Last summer a pair of bald eagles decided to build a nest in a dead cottonwood in our valley. Since then, they’ve been maintaining the nest and about a week ago they began incubating eggs. I’m a bit concerned about the structural integrity of this tree, but here’s hoping we won’t get a terrible wind storm before the chicks fledge in June.
In the mean time, it’s interesting to watch the comings and goings of the pair and see them share nesting duties. In honor of our new residents, I have put together a Youtube video highlighting their nesting behavior.
