I'm not a huge fan of House Wrens. They are incredibly aggressive during their nesting season and will commonly tear down nearby nests of other bird species. (I have personally witnessed a House Wren tear down an Eastern Phoebe nest.) Nasty, Nasty, Nasty!
Nonetheless, there isn't much I can do to prevent this other than to give them plenty of nesting boxes. One such box this last summer gave me an incredible insight as to the diversity of bugs that these birds feed their young. Just about any bug that they see is fair game.
